BEST OF MOROCCO

Morocco is a fantastic, independent Kingdom present in the northwestern part of Africa. It is very different from a lot of other North African countries and fairly cheap visit. The culture of the country is a blend of  Arab, European and African cultures. A visitor trekking Morocco, gets ample opportunity to discover and enjoy its rich history, art, culture and music. The geography of Morocco is very varied, diverse and fascinating. The regions of the country comprise of the Atlantic coastline, Atlas Mountains and the enormous Sahara Desert. Highlights of Morocco:-
1 Marrakech
This is an exciting, vibrant exotic city! It is well worth spending time in. There is a famous mosque, constructed in the 12th century. The mosque has a minaret rising 230 feet into the blue cloudless sky. Not to be missed in the city is the Djemaa el Fna central square. In the evening, this place comes alive and pulses to the sounds of hundreds of revelers, consisting of tourists, henna artists, musicians, snake charmers, fortune tellers, acrobats, dancers and food vendors. The market is called the souk and one can find different types of Moroccan items. The most typical types of Moroccan items one can find here are nuts, dry fruits, slippers,exotic spices, musical instruments, leather handbags and colorful lanterns. A visit to a Moroccan Pharmacy is a must and the various carpet emporia are excellent.
Marrakech is the largest and oldest medieval town in the world. The city is a bustling thriving , especially in the medina. A visitor will find many interesting things in the medina, some of which are leather goods, pottery, carpets, spice tubs and a blend of pleasant aromas. The city was a famous hideout of Winston Churchill.
2 Essaouira
This is a Portuguese enclave on the Atlantic coastline enclosed by old walls. It has extended beyond those walls. An individual can explore the town on foot itself, as it is quite small. Every city gate here would lead a person to the Medina, and hence no one is likely to get lost here. The beach has many restaurants with terraces. The restaurants are a good place to relax and enjoy Portuguese cuisine.
3 The High Atlas Mountains
The High Atlas Mountains stretch around 2400 kilometres, from Morocco to Tunisia. This mountain range comprises the "Rock of Gibraltar". A person planning to trek this mountain range can choose to stroll or go for a strenuous trek which requires travel up to North Africa's highest summit. The Grand Atlas of Morocco consists of the Anti-Atlas, High Atlas and Middle Atlas. Berber people live in the mountain villages and they have a simple lifestyle. Witness a Berber dentist extracting a tooth without injection, in front of your eyes. Very few travelers get the chance to have a close look at these people and their lives and go into one of their homes. Marakech gets its water from these high mountains.


4 Rif Mountains
Morocco has a famous medina situated in the higher part of the Rif Mountains. The media is beautiful, having white colored walls and blue colored doors. The median was initially a Berber post. The heart of this media is the main square. It also has the Kasbah, central mosque and many hotels offering Moroccan style foods. Here, the market offers both tourist souvenirs and traditional Moroccan items. Visit a Berber home and have tea with the locals.


5 Sahara Desert

The final  major attraction is the Sahara desert is also an amazing place to visit while touring Morocco. Going for camel trips in the desert offers a good way to explore the beauty of the desert and feel its calming quietness. With such amazing places to visit, the country truly forms a great place to go on a holiday with friends and family. 6 Fez
